We are one hundred days smarter!

On Friday we celebrated 100 days of school and used this as a perfect opportunity to practice maths. Each child brought 100 items which they were then encouraged to count by grouping the items into 5's, 10's, 25's and 50's to enable us to skip count and therefore learn how to count a number of objects faster.
The children displayed their items and then toured the other junior classrooms to see all the different collections.
Thanks to Pania's mother for your help and lovely pictures.

We did songs and dances about counting to 100 and in fitness the children came up with movements in groups of ten and we counted to 100 using star jumps and hops and jumps.

The children brought food to share for lunch. Anna brought in a bag of 100 mandarins! Kenneth brought in some much sought after Cookie Monster and Elmo cupcakes which turned the children's tongues a variety of rainbow colours. Special mention to Rebecca's dad who made steamed buns which were wonderful, and included a box just for the teachers. This is ALWAYS encouraged 😋 Our visiting international students loved the party!

We finished the day with a disco! Thanks to the whole Junior Team for helping to make this day a fabulous celebration!
